Working with Tabular Data in GIS

Working with Tabular Data in GIS In-Person

GIS data consists of geographic objects in a map, each one linked to a row in a table that describes their features. In this workshop we will explore simple capabilities such as selection by attribute or location and table joins, that allow GIS researchers to conduct complex spatial analysis. After this workshop you will be able to:

-          Make queries to select out features based on certain criteria

-          Summarize information based on categories

-          Pass information from one dataset to another based on a common field (Join)

-          Geocode tabular data based on descriptive geographic fields such addresses or zip codes.

This is a 3-hours hands-on workshop and is free for Clemson students, faculty and staff. Feel free to share the attached flyer with anyone you think might be interested.

*Basic knowledge of GIS is required to attend this workshop. In our Certificate of Attendance series, this is the 3rd workshop mandatory to obtain this certificate.
