Introduction to Power BI for Data Visualization In-Person

Curious about Power BI? Come learn the basics with us in the Scholars' Lab!

This introductory workshop will cover:

1. What is Power BI and how it can be used for data visualization?

2. Obtaining and installing Power BI

3. Connecting data to Power BI

4. Creating a basic interactive dashboard in Power BI

Power BI is "an interactive data visualization software product developed by Microsoft with a primary focus on business intelligence" (per Wikipedia); it is comparable in many ways to other data viz software like Tableau but has a few unique features and is compatible with other Microsoft products and platforms. This workshop will be for total beginners, and will be held in-person to make sure all attendees get ample assistance. This can be taken as a standalone workshop or as a primer for the Clemson Center for Geospatial Technologies' Power BI workshop on 11/18/22, which will be slightly more advanced and incorporate GIS components.
