The Science on Introversion: Understanding its impact on Library Workplace Culture (For Library Employees Only) In-Person

Approximately 80% of library professionals, including librarians and professional staff, identify as introverts. This workshop is designed to empower introverted library professionals by exploring the science of introversion and its unique strengths in the workplace. We will delve into the challenges and opportunities that introverts face in a world often geared towards extroverted behaviors. By understanding the nuances of introversion, participants will gain valuable insights into effective communication, self-care, and strategies for building strong professional relationships. 

Workshop will take place in 416 Cooper Library (Brown Room)

Workshop Objectives: 

  1. Understand the ‘science of introversion’ and where you may fit on the spectrum 

  2. Identify the strengths and challenges of introverted individuals in the workplace. 

  3. Develop strategies to work more collaboratively together and why there might be anxiety and resistance to change. 

  4. Analyze case studies to understand the impact of introversion on workplace dynamics.
