Tableau Desktop: Beginner In-Person
The Scholars’ Lab at Cooper library is pleased to announce data visualization using Tableau Desktop: Beginner. Tableau is a popular software option used to make interactive data visualizations and dashboards. No prior technical or analytical background is needed for this course. You will learn how to install the software on your computer. The workshop will include an introduction to data visualization and different Tableau products. You will understand the interface of the Tableau desktop and the abundance of features it provides to make your data more presentable. You will make different Tableau sheets that will include insightful charts and plots. At the end of the workshop, you will create a customized interactive dashboard to convey the story using your own data.
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn:
• What Tableau is and how to install the Tableau desktop on your own computer.
• Import and prepare data into Tableau to make your own data visualizations.
• Learn features of Tableau to create a sheet using various charts and plots.
• Create insightful dashboards to convey your story to the intended audience
