Python for Beginners In-Person

The Scholars’ Lab at Cooper Library is pleased to announce Python for Beginners. Python is a powerful high-level programming language used for data visualization and data analytics.  In this workshop, you will learn the basics of programming using simple instructions in Python. Use open-source free to all Jupyter notebook to create your own code. Learn what the basic data types used in Python and statements related to those data types are. You will learn to use conditional execution like if-else statements and iterative loops like while and for loops. You will also be introduced to data structures like lists, dictionaries, and tuples and how to create them. No previous coding knowledge or installation of the new software is needed for this workshop.

Short Description

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn:

• Learn the basics of the programming using Python in Jupyter Notebook

• Learn different data types and the operations performed.

• Make use of conditional statements and the iterative loops.

• Create data structures like lists, dictionaries, and tuples to store the data.
